By promoting student leadership we hope to:
empower children to have a role in the running of their school;
provide student feedback to the Administration and teachers,
draw together children from all levels of the school;
provide financial assistance to school, state, national and world organisations.
Our school has a Student Council and its role is to represent the children of our school.
The Student Council encompasses representatives from Years 4 to 6. Our Year 6s elect an Executive of four officers to carry out the administrative duties of the Council. In the year leading up to the election for these roles (currently Year 6), students are required to keep a log of all community oriented activities that they conduct which display their commitment to our school ideals. These logs count towards the students' 'Leadership Pins' and assist teachers and students with the selection process for school leaders and Student Council Members in Year 6. The Student Council conducts various student orientated activities throughout the year.
Student leaders are also elected for House Sports Teams, Instrumental Music and Choir groups.
Each term groups of Year 6 students have the responsibility of leading and reporting at our assembly which has become a highlight of our week.
